Its that time of year!!

The cold and dreary weather has finally set in.  A milestone for me.....buying winter boots!  Last year I gave in and bought a new coat so it seemed fitting.

Thanksgiving has come and gone (in Canada....US Thanksgiving is coming soon).  With that being said, you know what is right around the corner!!

MY BIRTHDAY!!!  LOL!  Oh ya, and Christmas!

Mrs. Ree asked me 3 weeks ago when I will be coming to decorate her tree.  She then reminded me last Saturday that she was waiting for a date.....then again this weekend, same thing!

Decorating Mrs. Ree's tree has been a tradition for so many years now, I can't even count them!  But last year was much different.

Last year Valerie and Scott moved to BC.  This fact didn't really truly hit me until I went to decorate the tree.

It was always just the three of us.  Val and I would start by adjusting the branches after they were crushed from being packed away in the box.  Then we would try to figure out how to get that one second of lights working.....no dice!  It ain't happening.

Then there is the organized routine of hanging the beads, then all the ornaments after Mrs. Ree made sure they all had their hooks on, next we add on the bows of red and gold, and then the angel.  After making sure she was positioned just right, we would then stand back and check out our creation.

Nothing is more beautiful then a decorated Christmas tree!!

And now I have to figure out when I can get over there and decorate!!!!

Passing the time away!

Have you ever wondered why we fill our days with so many things to do?  Errands, shopping, the gym.....the list of things is endless.  Have you ever just stopped?  Spent a day doing absolutely nothing?  For those out there with kids, I know....this never happens!  But doing nothing can be......well, boring. When I "do nothing" it can drive me nuts.  I find that I still need the tv or music on.  A few hours reading a book and having a cup a cup of coffee. We don't always do these things to fill our days because they are needed....we do it because we don't want to be bored!  Bored makes us lazy and actually more exhausted than we are while constantly on the go. Procrastination

Why?  A question asked all they time. Why do we say we are going to do something but we don't end up doing it? I have many "projects" that I need done or want done.  I keep saying that I am going to do them, but I don't. It's a viscous cycle that gets us no where. Maybe that needs to be one of my "resolutions" for this year.  Accomplish some of the things that have been waiting to get done. 1.  Finish the desk. 2.  Build a gate on the deck. 3.  Clean and tidy the basement. Really, it can be done.  Time to put the mind and body to work so that it will get done!
